                                SPEECH ON INDEPENDENCE DAY


                                                
Good Morning Everyone,
                                       Respected teachers and my dear friends , Today I am feeling privileged to stand in front of all ,to speak upon my country, India,on such a sacred day. One of the auspicious event and biggest national festival , 15 Aug , Independence day.The day when we got Independence , and freedom from slavery of the Britishers.
                                                     '' Affluent in cultural heritage
                                                       elevated till Kanchenjunga ,
                                                     glorified with natures panorama
                                                        where run alluring Ganga ''
Yes friends , I am glorifying the beauty and richness of my country India. It is not only a beautiful country but much more than that , It is famous for its diversity , its rich cultural heritage , its architect ,its army and what not . 70 years ago , on this day India got free from clutches of the Britishers ,after long struggle, sheer hard work and thousand of sacrifices made by our ancestors created this Eureka moment .Today is the perfect day to commemorate the martyrs for their endeavour  and sacrifices done to make us  proud citizen of an independent country.

How do we know what sacrifice is ? ......Our ancestors had already made for us.
How do we know what struggle is ? ...... Our ancestors had already suffered for us.
How do we know what hard work is  ..... Our ancestors had already done for us .

 And provide us with an independent India , where we can upright our head with proud and say we are the citizens of independent India .
Though each and every Indian has contributed in freedom struggle ,still some of our prominent leaders have made the biggest  contribution like - Mahatma Gandhiji , Subhash chandra bose , Bhagat singh . Mangal pandey etc . Mangal pandey was the first person to boycott British army and raised his voice for freedom and justice , Mahatma Gandhi also started several movements to force Britishers to leave India
without violence . Lala Lajpat Rai , Subhash chandra bose played eminent role in
freedom struggle .And finally with united efforts of all India attain its freedom on 15 Aug 1947.
But being a citizen of independent India , I want to ask everyone , Are We Really Independent ? 
Are We Really Developing ? It is one of the biggest question mark on our society . Is every Indian  able to earn its livelihood ? Is every Indian  educated ?Is Indian women independent ?
Why every Indian parent wish that their child should go abroad for further studies ? Why can't we create our own Einstein . why can't we trust our own education system , our own scientist , Why can't we rely on our own technicians , Why still we are dependent upon developed countries for arms and ammunition . 
Its all because of lack of impeccable education system , some of the backward and superstitious religious beliefs , political corruption and poor mind set for women in society ...
Despite of being Independent ,our country is facing lot of hindrances in the path of development

No society , no country can develop until its citizens are ready for a big change , which is mandatory in today's time .

India has lot of talent , passion , resources , just we need to put them in right order , and it is only possible when every Indian understand the importance of education , values , rights and duties , and ready to accept the change what they actually want  to see in world . The day when every Indian would be educated and self reliance , when every Indian women is given equal status to men , when every child is educated , That day we will become really independent .
So friends lets take a pledge - Say no to corruption , Each one teach one , Save water judiciously , Go green grow green ,to make India better ...to make India independent .

FIGURE OF SPEECH     A figure of speech is a word or phrase using figurative language - a language that has other than its normal definition .It is an expression or word that is used with a metaphorical rather than a literal meaning . Whenever a speaker does not intend the literal interpretation of his words ,then he is using a figure of speech . It can be repetition , arrangement or omission of words with literal meaning ,or a phrase with a specialised meaning not based on the literal meaning of the words .It is used to convey meaning or heighten effect often by comparing or identifying one thing with another that has a meaning or connotation familiar to the reader or listener .
