                                           THE NOUN 

Word ''Noun '' is derived from Latin word '' Nomen '' which means name . Nouns are the words which are used to identify different class of people , place or thing from each other, or to name particular .
Basically they are called Naming Words . A name is always required to distinguish one thing from another ,that role is played by Noun . Generally,we give  a name to every class or group of people , place or thing to make things  easy and comfortable for our own selves .


Definition :'' The name of  a person ,place ,animal or thing is called Noun .
 for eg : cows , letter , India , doctor


                                                    KINDS OF NOUN 

1.]  Common noun :  General name given to a person ,place ,animal or thing for its identification is    called common noun .
 for eg : dog , pencil , umbrella , hospital etc 

2.]  Proper noun : A special name given to a person , place ,animal or a thing to give it a special         identification is called Proper noun .
 for eg : Mumbai , Rita , Nile , Dr. Ashok etc .
 [ Proper nouns always start with capital letter]

3.]  Material noun :  Names given to materialistic things  are called material noun .
  for eg : paper , wood , glass ,oil ,plastic etc .

4.]  Abstract noun :  Abstract noun is basically refers to a thing that does not exist as  materialistic
 object, it means it is a name given to an idea ,concept ,event or quality .                                                basically, things which we cannot feel with our  sense organs.
 for eg : love ,peace ,pride , integrity etc

5.]  Collective noun :  Names given to collection of person ,place animal or thing  is called                 collective noun .
 for eg :  A bevy of beautiful girls
              A  fleet of ships
              A  bale of cotton
              A tuft of grass etc

      FIGURE OF SPEECH     A figure of speech is a word or phrase using figurative language - a language that has other than its normal definition .It is an expression or word that is used with a metaphorical rather than a literal meaning . Whenever a speaker does not intend the literal interpretation of his words ,then he is using a figure of speech . It can be repetition , arrangement or omission of words with literal meaning ,or a phrase with a specialised meaning not based on the literal meaning of the words .It is used to convey meaning or heighten effect often by comparing or identifying one thing with another that has a meaning or connotation familiar to the reader or listener .
